Abstract

Understanding the vibration behavior of a cantilever beam is the major priority of interest of our work. In this work, we have analyzed the real structure behavior of a 30 cm (length) cantilever beam and examined the different mode shapes and corresponding natural frequencies theoretically, numerically and experimentally. For the theoretical analysis the theory which is available for the vibration of a cantilever beam in the literature was used. In our work, we have used the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. The numerical analysis was carried out by using ANSYS, Inc. for analyzing, processing and simulating the cantilever beam. After that, one experiment has been conducted in order to validate the theoretical results. The analytical, numerical and experimental results were compared which showed very good agreement between them.
