Gas industries are highly involved in the disposal of the raw materials used to construct oil and gas coups which tend to have severe consequences on the environment. Linear economy as we know is adapted to this situation as (take, make, throw) where these scraps that are stagnant are discarded in landfills. A circular economy would both maximize the merits of these scraps and minimize their ill effects, through such actions as redesigning products to cut waste and make them last; boosting recycling and reuse, and utilizing scraps as a resource; to name a few. In this study we are focusing on the residual scrap materials generated; since the main focal point of gas industries are usually the chemical wastages generated from the reactions in order to form gas/oil. A model for recycling the scrap generated from the gas industry has been proposed which provides recycling of the waste in multiple levels i.e. we can extract the same product from the waste by high grade recycling or can use them in secondary operations like incorporating these scraps in the tech or agricultural operations. This study presents a hybrid methodological study based on the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to define the best Circular Economy methodology to be implemented in order to reduce environmental, economical, operational, and supply chain barriers. Results were presented as Industrial Symbiosis to be the best circular economy methodology to implement and Process Optimization to be the reigning cause which affects the various criteria.
